Men and women in Naval ships are deployed to places around the globe. They spend a lot of time away from loved ones and friends. The call of duty and the call of home create two worlds that can be difficult to balance.

TWO WORLDS ARE CALLING ME
Music, Lyrics and Arrangement by Gary Griffin, July 2013
I am just a sailor
I take my ship and sail her
Far away from home I must go
I’ve promised to uphold a deal
I understand the risk is real
I put my trust in the strength of men and women
And plates of steel
And in my heart a growing sense of pride … I feel
And now my watch has ended
The broken sea has mended
I stand here in the mist facing home
Don’t think that I don’t need you
Don’t think that I don’t want you
Don’t think that I’m not thinking of you
Right now
Don’t think that I don’t love you so … I do
Some think I’m strange because
My words come out in shades of navy blue
But those who get to know me soon find out
I’m made of other colours too
And I’ve been working hard to figure out
How I might share my life with you
Like you I have dreams
Two worlds are calling me
Like you I have dreams
Two worlds are calling me
Don’t think that I don’t need you
Don’t think that I don’t want you
Don’t think that I’m not thinking of you
Right now
Don’t think that I don’t love you so … I do
